On November, 27 Boris to Eugen Patonu is 90 years ago. Today «…» reminisces the Kievan places, related to the glorified dynasty, in a great deal defining the face of the capital. Now already it is not desirable to think that in 1904 guidance of the Kievan polytechnic institute, seeking out a deserving candidature for managing the department of bridges, could not choose 34-letnem Moscow professor Evgenii Paton. But Kievan tekhnari understood well, what level a specialist needs them, and insistingly Paton called to Kiev. They consented to suffer whole year, while an again select professor will not round the businesses in Moscow engineering school. Fortunately, for Eugen Paton Oscar the new place of service caused interest: «, preparing to the move, thought: an institute is young, young and I. Auspice!»

Already in a year after the beginning of work in an institute Eugen Paton was select the dean of engineering faculty KPI. To this educational establishment three decades of his life are related. Among students he had reputation for the thunderstorm of lazy persons and slobs, but clever and assiduous young people got the priceless lessons of professionalism from him. To revolution in this house, decorated showy turrets, 8-ya took place masculine gimnaziya. And soviet power arranged trudshkolu here. It was visited by young Borya Paton. Later Boris Eugen remembered the favourite teacher – mathematics of Gleba Balina: « able always to wake up interest to new, interestingly bound the article of lesson to the examples from life, technique. He was always interested by our aspirations, naklonnosti».

Located southward ot Kreschatika sublimity consists of districts Pechersk and Linden-trees. A main highway of this district is a street of М.Gruschevskogo – begins at the Kievo-pecherskoy large monastery and crosses Pechersk, going down to the European area which completes Kreschatik. A street М.Gruschevskogo was built-up in XVI age. In 1919 she had the name the Revolutionary street, in 1934 is a street of Kirova, and a street was adopted in 1991 Grushevskogo in honour the first President of Ukraine. A street is interrupted the area of Glory with a hotel «Salute» and by the house of youth, and also Arsenal area with building of Arsenal of the New Pecherskoy fortress and former Nikolaevskimi barracks.

On territory of modern city of settlement appeared in a late paleolith is about 20 thousand of years ago. People felt influencing of the poslelednikovogo freezing, hunted on mammoths, rhinoceroses, deer, built dwellings from bones and hides of animals. On territory of modern city were found out tracks of life of man of pozdnepaleoliticheskogo type in the street Frunze, 59-61 (former street Kirillovskaya) – Kirillovskaya stand.
